March 11th

Today was a wonderful day! We passed through the Drake Passage and so the boat is rocking less. I feel better – I just may have my sea legs now.

We saw many wildlife species today; whales, bird, seals, penguins and we sw our first iceberg! We had our first landing today. It was Ronge Island, one of the South Shetland Islands. We saw Gentoo Penguins, Fur Seals, Chinstrap Penguins and a Leopard Seal as well! It was great!

Our morning was spent going over some safety rules and information about the zodiacs. We got to sign up for our groups. Our ‘gang’ made sure we all signed up in the same group. Our group is the Amundsen group. It was so much fun and I really like our ‘gang’.

Honestly, I felt like the little kid at Christmas who makes themselves sick because they are so excited!! I love this.

We had a wonderful dinner again. I could get used to this! Tonight we watched part III of Frozen Planet – I missed part II because of the Drake Passage. I may have to purchase the series, I really like it.

This is like a dream!
