Our Gang

I want to tell you a little about the fellow travellers I have been hanging out with, just about 24/7 and some for as long as three weeks. I have had the great fortune to meet some terrific people on my travels. The gang that bonded in the Antarctic however, will always have a special place in my heart.

Our gang of eight Antarctic adventurers balance each other out to such a degree that if one of us is missing the entire group feels the loss. We all come from different places and different backgrounds but here in the Antarctic none of that holds the same significance that it might at home. We have all arrived at the end of the world to witness together, consciously or not, the peace that the white continent brings.

As well as searching for new lands we are all searching for something more in ourselves; some are trying to find connections while others are trying to find independence. The following words are written by these intrepid travelers that I have had the great fortune to meet and who I will forever be proud to call my friends.

This is my small way of doing a guest blog! I asked each of them to write something on one of the days that we knew we were at sea. I will post their responses; that being said they all laughed and said no when I first asked them but being true friends they all submitted some thoughts. I love these people. Enjoy!

Amy, Joe, David and Ursula were with me on Easter Island. Jeff joined our small group in Buenos Aires, Rej we quickly became friends with in Ushuaia and Brad we met on the boat.
